  4. FOLLOW THESE STEPS! Inside Front Cover Glue or tape YELLOW Rules for NB & yellow Classroom Procedures on this cover! Add: my.ccsd.net/vsahi 1st page lined paper Print your First and Last Name, Per #, and room 823 on top Glue or tape PINK table of contents around p. 1 and 2!

Notes, Lab reports, and teacher provided instructions, guidelines, and handouts will go on the right hand side page If you run out of space, a new sheet should be glued on the bottom of the page and folded in and up. Do not go to the next page! Left Side (Your Side) Right Side (Teacher Led Activities) “IN” Question: You will need to copy the question, as well as answer to the best of your ability. You might not be sure of your answer here, but you must try! ‘IDK’ is not considered an answer.Concept maps, questions, brainstorming, Diagrams, Cartoons, Graphs, 3-item summary, etc. “OUT” Question: You will need to copy the question & write the answer to the best of your ability. These can be checked before you’re allowed to leave the class at the end of the period. Do not do ahead of time! (could relate to lab) This is the metal spiral. DO NOT split each page in half, please!!

  6. Table of Contents • Complete ToC, as seen on next slide! • Be sure to update your ToC regularly, as it will make NB checks that much easier!

  7. We will be gluing or taping things into the notebook throughout the quarter. --There will be NO staples in the notebooks! • DO NOT RIP ANY PAGES FROM THE NOTEBOOK!! --I have loose paper, should you need it!

  8. You will probably need A new notebook for each semester!!!

  9. Getting Started • Number the first 30 pages in the TOP corners!!!. • You will put a date on the top left hand corner, below the page number (SHOULD BE AN EVEN PAGE #!!).

  10. Start Gluing!! • Glue the pinkData tables sheet on page 3. • Glue the greenScience process sheet on page 4. • Title p. 5 Qual. Vs. Quant. Obs.

  11. Glue the blue Inf/Obs sheet on page 7. • Make a note that the yellow Lab Equipment ID sheet will go on page 9 once it’s filled out. • Glue the blue safety sheet on page 10.

  12. Adding extensions (when 1 piece just isn’t enough ) • Get an extra sheet of paper from Ms. S’s basket. • Line up the top hole of the loose sheet, then tape it onto the journal page. • Fold the sides & bottom up, so that nothing is hanging from your INB.

  14. 9/3 Observation and Inference IQ: What can be inferred by the following observation? Tim was not present in Science class today, but he was here during Advisory.

  15. OQ Where can you find the info on what to do if you forget your notebook at home or in your locker?
