Eta Kappa Nu The Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society Epsilon Sigma Chapter • We are the University of Florida’s branch of Eta Kappa Nu. • We have a long history of serving the ECE department at UF. Events we have sponsored historically include student/professor luncheons and the ECE banquet. • We also used to do our own unique course evaluations, and we are currently helping the department by offering exam reviews for all core EE classes. Eta Kappa Nu The Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society History • Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) was founded at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1904 by Maurice Carr • There are now about 200 chapters at universities across the U.S. and we are currently expanding into Canada • There are about 300,000 members • HKN members serve the community, university, and department in various activities www.hkn.ece.ufl.edu hkn@ece.ufl.edu

Eta Kappa Nu The Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society Leadership Opportunities: Community Service Chair (Fall semester only!) • We need a temporary chair while our current chair is off-campus due to a co-op at BP. Responsibilities would include running our Lego Robotics program, and planning 1-2 additional community service events. High School Outreach Chair • We are looking for someone who is willing to help us with setting up our new high school outreach program. Eta Kappa Nu The Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society Leadership Opportunities: Tutoring Chairs! • A tutoring chair is a student who completed an EE course with a high grade and is willing to help teach other EE students the fundamentals of the course through exam reviews before each major exam. • We need tutors for the following core EE classes: • Circuits 1 • Circuits 2 • Digital Logic • Analytical Methods • Electronic Circuits 1 • Electromagnetic Fields 1 • Tutoring chairs will also be responsible for knowing when each major exam is coming up, and informing the Tutoring Coordinator, Riley Duffy, at least 1 week beforehand so he can secure a room. • If you are interested see Ralph after the meeting! Textbooks must be in good enough shape that they can be used by students and must have been published within the last decade. • Donating two or more textbooks gives one community service point. • We will accept textbooks at meetings and during office hours. • Canned Food Drive • We are collecting canned food goods for donation. • Donating six or more different canned food goods gives one community service point. • We will accept cans at meetings and during office hours. www.hkn.ece.ufl.edu hkn@ece.ufl.edu
