TAXIS TOP RTA HAPPINESS SCORE CARD The transport made that spread the most smiles in Dubai was taxis, with a happiness rating of 91.7%. Dubai Metro riders clocked a happiness rating of 88.5%, buses got an 88.5% rating; marine transport 86.9% and tram 82.8%. The overall happiness rating of various public transit means hut 88.4%. Meanwhile, residents’ happiness in the RTA increased by 11% in 2018 as compared to 2017. The objective of launching the Community Happiness Survey is to understand clients’ needs and improve the RTA’s services to deliver best-i-class customer experience and improve the overall customers happiness. The video-lad campaign amplifies the message hat everyone on the planet has a contribute to make. It is an Open invitation for all to join Expo2020 on its exciting journey, with the clear message “We’re not done yet” in making progress. Between October 20, 2020 and 10 Aril 2011 Expo 2020 Dubai expects to record 25 mln visitors with 70% coming from outside the UAE – the highest proportion of international visitors in the 167 year history of World Expos.   3. SHARJAH UNVEILS DHS2B PROJECT Sustainability is the buzzword these days, especially in the UAE. The latest such development to come online is Sharjah Sustainable City Project, which will fully produce its own electricity, recycle water and waste, produce own vegetables at farms and use electric mode of transport within the community, making it a very environment friendly project. The company said residents will have up to 100% savings on electricity bills, up to 50% savings on water bills and zero service charges for the first five years. ABU DHABI LAUNCHES DH535M HUB 71 FOR TECHNOLOGY STARTUPS The Abu Dhabi Government has pledged Dh535mln into Hub7, a new initiative to attract startups companies to set up shop in the UAE capital. Located in Abu Dhabi Global Market Square, Hub71 is part of Ghadan 21. Through the Abu Dhabi government’s economic programmes and plans, the Government is doubling down the efforts to make the capital a global beacon for technology and innovation. As part of this initiative, the Abu Dhabi government has announced it will launch a Dh535mln fund administered by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office to invest in startups and venture capitalists (VCs) at Hub71. Source: Khaleej Times ITALY AT EXPO: CONNECTIVE BEAUTY The Italian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai will put beauty at the heart of the experience that connects people, and build on the legacy of the Expo 2015. the pavilion, under the theme “Beauty that connects people”, will take up a surface of around 3500 sqm and will be over 25 meter tall. It will be located, in addition, in an area of high visibility within the site of Expo 2020 Dubai. the international competition for the design of the Italian pavilion saw the submission of 19 different proposals and was concluded with the award going to a group of companies of Carlo RattiAssociati, Italo Rota Building Office, F&MIngegneria and Matteo Gatto & Associati. As part of the design, the hulls of three Italian ships arriving by sea shall be overturned and raised one next to the other on tall pillars, becoming the cover of the pavilion. Each of them will be painted in a different way, and from above the design will look like three petals composing the colors of he Italian flag.
