Overwegingen bij voorzorg? • Precautionary Principle – Rio / EC • Gezondheidsraad (2008) “Voorzorg met Rede” en • WRR (2008) “Onzekere Veiligheid” • Procesdefinitie: processtappen met voorwaarden en spelregels met als elementen: • onzekerheid • schade • kosten-batenanalyse • transparantie besluitvormingsproces en betrokkenheid belanghebbenden • actieve opstelling

Arboregelgeving / REACH • Aanknopingspunten voor voorzorg in arbowet/arbobesluit • Werkgever heeft de verplichting zorg te dragen voor een veilige werkplek • Risico-inventarisatie & evaluatie • Good practices • Arbeidshygiënische strategie • Operationalisering van voorzorg • handvatten voor werkgevers en werknemers

Some statements for further consideration • Not taking precautionary measures is accepting the state-of-the-art • = accepting the fact that making a reliable risk assessment is not possible • = accepting actual exposure without knowledge on adverse effects • Waiting for enough evidence is equal to a ban on development • Acceptance of level of risk is a political decision • A risk-free society is an illusion • Nano-components are only part of the composition • Risk research should be an integral part of the R&D process • Working conditions policies should operationalise uncertainty for daily practice
