  3. 8:25 AM 3:03 PM Students should arrive no earlier than 8:15AM

  4. Parent/Guardian must send a written request to the teacher if their regular dismissal procedure changes.

  6. Lunch If ordering lunch, sign up for “My School Bucks”, which can be found on the district website. Lunch calendars are sent home each month and it can also be found on the MWD Website. Please separate snack and lunch and label

  7. Please provide a backpack large enough to fit folders and books. No wheels please. Folders MUST be checked every night. Clean out old material daily.

  8. What Can You Do To Prepare Your Child For Kindergarten? • Read to your child often & discuss the book • Have your child point under the words as you read. • Practice letter recognition and beginning sounds. • Play rhyming games. • Have your child practice writing his or her name. • Draw pictures with your child & encourage them to label it. • Practice gluing and cutting. • Model writing for your child (grocery lists, cards, etc.) • Encourage independence • Read books about going to school to ease “first day jitters”.

  9. Safety Safety is very important and one of the most important things we need to learn about safety is how to tie our shoes! Please work with your child to teach them how to tie their shoes. Please make sure to send in foods your child is familiar with eating. If your child has any food allergies, please let us know right away! We will be practicing fire drills and other safety drills throughout the year.

  11. Volunteering Volunteers are an important resource and are appreciated by classroom teachers and other school personnel. Volunteers assist in many ways at MWD. You can volunteer to become a class parent or ask the PTA how you can help. Volunteers most definitely enrich the school experience for our students! Get involved in the PTA!!!
