History Literature Award • Gardner-Lasser Aerospace History Literature Award • First Awarded in 2002 • Award is presented for the best original contribution to the field of aeronautical or astronautical historical non-fiction literature published in the last five years dealing with the science, technology, and/or impact of aeronautics and astronautics on society. • History Manuscript Award • First Awarded in 1969 • Award is presented for the best historical manuscript dealing with the science, technology, and/or impact of aeronautics and astronautics on society • Awards consist of an engraved medal, a certificate of citation, rosette pin and a $500 honorarium and are presented at an appropriate AIAA conference.

  9. Reprint Series • AIAA started a classic reprint series to make available rare or hard-to-find aerospace texts that would be of lasting interest to the field • Volumes to date: • Robert H. Goddard, Rockets, 1947 American Rocket Society • Samuel P. Langley, Experiments in Aerodynamics,1893, Smithsonian Institution
