  2. DomesticationOf Worms • Worms are being kept under human surveillance for breeding, testing and reeling practice. NOTE:- Since the silk invention, worms are being domesticated and with this they are unable to see and fly.

  3. When SilkWorms are killed… • Once the cocoon is ready to break the shell and come out to start a new life, they are put into boiling water therefore killing the worm inside.

  4. Silk Reeling • Silk Yarn is reeled from boiling cocoons. • 3000 cocoons produce just one pound of silk. • Sacrifice of 10,000 silkworms are needed to make one Silk Saree

  5. Making Non-Violent Silk • To stop the cruel practice, cocoons are made to break the shell and live their life. • Silk reeled through this method is lesser in quantity but it’s worth.
