  1. Digital Painting Project

  2. For this project… • You will be starting with an original image, or you can combine 2-3 images. • Then you will add a new layer on top and you will experiment with the Paint Brush Tool. • Experiment with different brush shapes, sizes, and hardnesses.

  3. You will also experiment with filters… • These are found in the filters menu. • But remember, you must be on a copied layer to apply the filter. • Otherwise you will change the original image. • We always want to save the original image without changing it as the background layer.

  4. And Blend Modes… • Remember, you need to be on the top layer (of the ones you want to blend) and have the move tool active. • Then hold down Shift and + to scroll through blending modes. • Or just use the drop down menu in the layers palette.

  5. Let’s look at some examples, shall we?

  6. Now for the technical requirements for this project… • RGB mode, 300 ppi, 8X10 inches • .jpg file submitted to your folder on the :K drive in the correct project # folder • File is named Project #(First Initial Last Name). For example Project1KMedak.jpg • Original images are submitted in the images folder found inside the Project # folder in your folder on the :K drive

  7. Remember… • you will need to save ALL of your images, projects, and step-by-step explanations (of how you manipulated the images) for your final Powerpoint presentation!
