  3. College Reps @ Vianney • Updated Calendar on Guidance Website: www.vianney.com/college-reps • Students need to SIGN UP on Family Connection 1 day in advance  Colleges Tab

  4. Vianney College Fair Thursday, September 19th @ 7-8:30pm • Over 100 Colleges/Universities Present • Speak with College Representatives • Gather information & brochures • Students and Parents are invited to attend! • Students should register online before the event: www.gotocollegefairs.com

  5. College Athletics • NCAA Initial Eligibility www.NCAA.org Click “Register to be a Student-Athlete” • NAIA Initial Eligibility www.playNAIA.org Click “Register to Play” • Need to Request Transcripts be sent from Vianney on these websites

  6. ACT/SAT Testing • Continue Testing in Senior Year: • ACT: September 21, October 26, December 14 • SAT: October 5, November 2, December 7 • Request scores be sent to potential schools • Some schools (Mizzou, SLU) won’t accept test scores from student transcripts • Test Prep: ACT Class @ Vianney

  7. Application Timeline • September-November (Earlier is Better) • December 1st: Priority Deadline for many schools • Early Decision vs. Early Action • Early Decision: Binding, Must attend College • Early Action: Non-Binding, Receive Early Response

  8. Complete Applications • On Website of College/University • Common Application (If Applicable) • Create Account • 2 Teacher Recommendations • Counselor Letter • Essay • Supplement

Scholarships • School Specific: Must be accepted first • Higher GPA + ACT Score = More $$ (usually) • School will send information to you • General Scholarships: • Check with Employer, Organizations, etc. • Posted in Family Connection • Posted on Bulletin & Newsletter • File in Leadership Center • More Scholarships will be available Jan.-May

  11. FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid • Fill out application online: www.fafsa.ed.gov • Request a PIN for student & parent • Complete application after January 1, 2014 Mark Your Calendars! • Financial Aid Night: Nov. 7, 2013 • FAFSA Completion Night: Jan. 28, 2014
