CS-3 Curve Catalogue StandardBackground • The CDA Well DataStore is a National Data Repository of UKCS well data containing Digital Well Logs for 30 E&P Member Companies • Data is stored as complete Tape Image Files and also as individual curves. • Over 7 million curves POSC SIG European Meetings

CS-3 Curve Catalogue StandardBackground • Catloging these curves was previously achieved by loading scripts applied to Recall. • A Curve Filter was developed based on 4500 known curve mnemonics. • Determined Online or Archive storage • Out of date (circa 2000) • Unknown mnemonics were ‘skipped’ POSC SIG European Meetings

CS-3 Curve Catalogue StandardRequirements • CDA recognised that improvements could be made to the filter. • Requirement to categorise curves into simple generic types. • Requirement to have consistent attribution determined by the filter but still allow certain attributes to be variable (such as values). CS-3 Curve Catalogue StandardApplication • Schlumberger awarded Well DataStore Contract in Jan 2006 • Tape Image Files migrated from Landmark PetroBank (Recall) • Tape Image Files passed through CS-3 curve filter on loading • Logging Contractors identified from TIF • New Logging Contractor codes allocated to Quarantined mnemonics in catalogue • Back population of Logging Contractor to CS-3 filter • System went live on June 20th POSC SIG European Meetings

CS-3 Curve Catalogue StandardOn going maintenance • Back populate missing attributes for Quarantined curves from loaded data • Re-classify Quarantined curves when attribution is complete • Treat new Quarantined curves periodically • Capture new mnemonics where possible POSC SIG European Meetings
