  2. Why does Cassio pay money to the clown to find Emilia? Emilia’s job is that of a Lady-in-Waiting to Desdemona. Cassio wants Emilia to see whether Desdemona will meet with him to ask her to speak with Othello on Cassio’s behalf.

  3. What does Emilia tell Cassio? Emilia tells Cassio that Othello and Desdemona have spoken about Cassio. Othello has said that when things calm down, he will reinstate Cassio.

  4. At this point, how could Cassio upset Iago’s devious plan? If Cassio were to stay away from Desdemona and patiently wait for his reinstatement, it would be more difficult for Iago to convince Othello that Desdemona and Cassio were having an affair.
