  1. Open House 2014 Welcome Families

School Agenda • Every day the students are required to fill out their homework in their agenda • This first 9 weeks we are checking everyday with a stamp or a initial • By the second 9 weeks we will be checking every other day. • By the end of the school year we will no longer be checking, in hopes that the students will gain independence with this task.

  3. Homework Policy • Student are given homework every day besides Friday( unless there is an ongoing project which parent will be notify using Remind 101) • Anything that is started and not finished in class becomes homework • All homework will/should be recorded in the agenda

  4. Redo Work • After receiving a grade on an assessment, if it’s a C, D or F (79% or below) they are allowed to redo the work on a separate sheet of paper. • The two grades will be averaged together and the new averaged grade will replace the original grade in the grade book.

  5. Bi- Weekly Progress Report • For the first nine students who have a 70 or below will receive a bi-weekly progress report in that subject. • We ask that you sign the progress and have your student bring it back the next day.

  6. Spelling and Domain Test • Spelling Test • Students will have spelling test every week until otherwise notified. • Spelling words are located on spellingcity.com • The spelling test will need to be completed in cursive starting next week • Domain Test • Students are given 4 social studies vocabulary and 4 science vocabulary words. • Students will be given the Domain words on Monday and the test will be Friday

  7. Classroom Blog • Our classroom blog can be found on the Russell website • Our classroom blog is updated every two weeks with what we are doing in class, ways you can volunteer both in our classroom and here at Russell.

  8. Remind 101 • Remind 101 is a way for us to send a quick text message to everyone who is signed up to send quick reminder • If you would like to sign up for Remind 101 • Send a text to (706) 510-0458 • With the message of @mspirania

  9. Class Dojo • Class dojo is a communication system between the parents and the teachers • This is a way for you to see a snapshot of how your student behaves at school • We use this system in addition to PBIS • Each student has an individual code so the parents will receive a weekly email about their students. • If you would like to sign up we have the website up
