  1. The Texas Gazette Brawls and Borders By: Gracson Byrd The all out brawl took place in downtown El Paso. Witnesses say that the fight started with a Mexican and an Anglo Texan where arguing about the new Texas border. The Anglo Texan said that is was, according to the Treaties of Velasco, the Rio Grande. However, the Mexican stated it was the Nueces River. “…one moment they were arguing and the next fists were flying!” says Bill Wood, a 31 year old Texan from Tennessee. Only 2 people were involved in this “border dispute” and no one was injured or killed. The border will hopefully be resolved so no one else will be injured.
