  2. This CAL DQM Week … • … was actually my first week on shift ;-) • … was rather busy and showed several problems: • Friday, Saturday: Funny behaviour of module B17: From time to time all channels dead; scope shows shaky signal with reduced amplitude. Suspicion: local clock signal to front-end card corrupt? Problem occurred once more. • Saturday/Sunday: Readout had to be restarted several times by the shift-crew because of hand-shake problem with EVB. • Sunday: Very high dead-time (80%) and CAL busy. Before, CFLT had closed some hot cells. Mauricio discovered bad PED sigma in B10. Bad channel update cured (?) the problem. Now bad channels gone again. TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/2004

  3. Details I 21/01/04: CAL_QUICK_CALIB 47339  calibration 3359 298 bad channels, 2 holes 22/01/04: QIN 16778 0/3(1)/0 UNO 16779 0/0/0 PED 16780 0/0/0  calibration 3360 FEC (fast)  calibration 3361 trimming UNO 16794 48/100/23 QIN 16795 5/2/1 PED 16796 14/7/1  calibration 3362 243 bad channels, 0 holes TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/2004

  4. Details II 23/01/04: Michele discovered funny B17 behaviour: all channels bad, UNO and QIN show only half the signal. Scope study with Isabell shows flickering B17 signal. Suddenly flickering disappears (did we touch cables on third floor?). adc2volt ec_1 run 16805, adc2volt version 2292 UNO 16807 QIN 16806 PED 16808  calibration 3363 256 bad channels 24/01/04: CAL_QUICK_CALIB 47396 UNO 2/2/0 QIN 0/0/0 PED 0/0/0  calibration 3364 260 bad channels, 2 holes TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/2004

  5. Details III 25/01/04: 6 am: Shift crew: restart the readout (hand-shake with EVB does not work). 7 am: high dead-time (80%) and CAL busy ???? PED sigma energy problem in PHYSICS runs. CAL_QUICK_CALIB 47427 UNO 1/4/0 QIN 0/9/0 PED 0/9/0  calibration 3365 274 bad channels, 2 holes Note: B10 problem shows up in the bad channels! TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/2004

  6. The B10 problem TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/2004

  7. Details IV 26/01/04: CAL_QUICK_CALIB 47459  calibration 3366 285 bad channels, 2 holes 27/01/04: UNO 16821 0/2/0 QIN 16820 0/0/0 PED 16822 0/0/0  calibration 3367 287 bad channels, 2 holes FEC (ec_1/5 16823/16827)  calibration 3368 trimming UNO 16831 QIN 16828 PED 16832  calibration 3369 235 bad channels, 2 holes TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/2004

  8. Status (calibration 3369) • 235 bad channels (103/105/27) • 2 holes B14 Tower 7 Typ 1 : UNO mean too low B22 Tower 4 Typ 2 : UNO RMS too big / UNO mean too low. • 2 bad front-end cards F12 Tower 6 : pipeline gain spread F8 Tower 14 : pipeline pedestal spread plus problems in B2, B10, B12, B16 TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/2004
