  3. What is a WebQuest? • A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity where most if not all of the information worked with comes from the Internet.

  4. Short Term WebQuest • Short Term: Knowledge acquisition and integration at the end of which a learner would have grappled with a significant amount of information and understood it. Should take between 1 and 3 class periods to complete. [A description by Marzano (1992) “Dimension of Thinking Model”] • (Bernie Dodge, San Diego State)

  5. Long Term WebQuest • With Long Term Webquest, the instructional goal is to extend and refine knowledge. As per Marzano [Dimensions of Thinking] 1992. This type of WebQuest should take between a week and a month of classroom time.

  7. USES • WebQuests are used for Educational, Medical, Professional, Scientific and numerous other purposes. • WebQuests can be used to build a solid foundation that prepares one for the future. • WebQuests can be used for teams/group projects.
