  7. OfFICIAL OPENNING OF PROJECT • Offcial openning of project was carried out with the participation of Kayseri Education Director and school headmasters in 12 August 2011 at Ahmet Erdem Vocational High School.

  10. WebSITE PRAPARATION • ccording to the criteria decided in Lithuania Meeting, Project Website has been prepared by Project Coordination Team Member Mr. Tufan ARI. The project website has been updated with new project activities. • http://www.cosafeproject.eu/

  11. Co-safesurvey • The survey was applied in partner countries to 1002 people. The target group included people at VET system. It was applied to examine awareness level of Occupational Health ans Safety Policies at EU level, good practices, difficulties and comments on topic.

Can you list effective practices leading to successful implementations of the Occupational, Health and Safety regulations in your school/organization? • Knowing the risky activities and places at the workplace • Compensation in the case of occupational injury or death • The responsibility of an employer to provide his employees with the personal protective equipment • Seminars on health and safety at work strategies and stress reduction • Lectures on reduction of accidents • Working in compliance with safety rules • Health checks • Textbooks, posters DVD and videos, online sources • Safety regulations on chemicals, clothing • Ergonomic measures • Prevention, protection and fire extinguishing with the help of the fireman • School meeting on OHS risks • Manuals on how to approach safety issues • Regular training measures such as evacuation and fire extinguishing • Safety signs

  16. 4. In your opinion,what are the biggest difficulties in VET regarding implementation of Health and Safety Regulations ? How it effects your organisation ? • Unawareness and ignoring the importance of OHS, • Financial limitation, • Trainings are not practical, • Inadequate and lack of equipment, • Ignoring the measures • Old structure of buildings • Lack of specialized staff • Flippant attitude towards OHS, • Poor compliance with the rules of OHS • Workplaces are not well equipped and suitable, , • Lack of cooperation with workplaces, • The content of OHS is quite changeable and need to be updated • Behavior of employees and students without any respect to the safety signs

Additional comments ( if any ) • Routine check of employees in workplaces • Practical trainings • Compliance with EU standards • Safety committee and occupational doctor is necessary • Increasing online and in presence trainings • More investment on OHS • Too many safety regulations • The formal VET curriculum related to OHS focuses on theoretical knowledge • Practical skills should be focused on

  18. BOOK COMMITTEE MEETINGS • One of the outcomes in co-SAFE is booklet for target group in VET system. Draft version of index and structure of booklet is prepared in book committee meeting in Turkey. In each part, there will be good practices in partner countries. The booklet will be both in English and national language of partners. The booklet will also be released in project website.

ITALY MEETING 4-6 March 2012 in Arezzo, Italy Agenda: • Visit in ateliers and classes at school to see good practices • Sharing results of co-SAFE questionnaire • Presentation about Occupational Health and Safety Policies and conditions in Italy • Visit to Arezzo Firefighters department • Context of German Meeting • Cultural activity of Florence

  24. PRESENTATIONS ABOUT VET SYSTEMS Presentations were prepared by each partner country according to the criteria decided in Italy meeting. Presentations are available in project website cosafeproject.eu

  25. SAFETY TEAMS • Safety teams are formed in partner schools Ahmet Erdem Trade Vocational Secondary School and Arte Fare Vocational Training Center. To know each other better, these two team met in Italy meeting. According to project activities, two teams will organise visula material preparing context.
