  1. Program Review 2013-2014

  2. Follow-Up on 2012-2013 Plan 1. Collaborate with the Workforce Division, Continuing Education, and GED Programs, to reduce the duplication of courses and increase enrollments. 2. Identify enrollment management by identifying sections student can support with the Continuing Education Program to prepare ESL students concurrently. • Initiated collaboration with Director and Manager from Workplace Literacy Programs. • Reviewed programs offered and initiated a continuous student-referral process. • Maintain a close relationship in which updates and information of department's programs offered/not offered is communicated immediately.

  3. Follow-Up on 2012-2013 Plan 3. Recommend the tracking of students from the Americana Language Program to credit programs and other programs at the College. Notes: 1. Students opt to take TOEFL exam to meet criteria to apply for admissions at institution of higher education. 2. The goals and objectives of our population is not necessary to complete program to enroll at institution of higher education. Some already have a degree from other countries and leave once they reach a level of proficiency required by their current/potential employers.

  4. Strategies • Enrollment Management: Identified enrollment trends, revenue sufficiency and other factors for each section. • GED Classes: GED classes were cancelled due to internal and external factors effective on Spring 2014. • Intensive: Evening classes are closed due to minimum enrollment. The process started on Summer 2013 and as of Spring 2014 we offer only one class. As a result, 85% of Saturday classes had a 81% - 100% fill rate. • All sections including Conversation ESL and Conversation Spanish (foreign languages) are monitored carefully. Spring 2014: 100% of Conversation classes had at least 87.50% to 100% fill rate. • Sections that not meet fill rate standard are carefully selected strategically to build a cohort and to exit students successfully (Levels I & Levels VI) • Future Plans: • The Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA) • The process to seek accreditation started on March 2014 • Timeline: Up to 2 years • Proposal to EPCC Foundation for Scholarships
