  3. Regional Higher Education Center • Vision • Scope – Meet the higher education needs of Northeast Maryland • Discussing with the new MHEC Secretary on short and long term solutions • HB 1156 • Status – Bill hearing schedule • STAY TUNED

  4. BRAC Internship Website Launched BRAC Internships Information Center website in partnership with Colleges in Maryland and defense contractors www.internshipcenter.mhec.maryland.gov Central location for internship opportunities with the military and defense industries Searchable database

Homeless Veterans Initiative • Modeled after Operation Stand Down in San Diego • First organizing meeting will be 25 March 2011 • Projected timeframe is October 2011 • Held in Baltimore region • Gather homeless veterans in Baltimore region location for 3 day event • Provide basic services • Disseminate veteran benefit information • Determine workforce opportunities • State, local, federal and private sector involvement
