  1. ROBOT ARENA 2 Timeline: 1 week Objectives: • Learn engineering basics of robot creation. • Build from scratch, 3 different weight classes of bot(30 points) • 1 bot needs to be a 4 wheeled bot • Design process: Test/battle/revise for efficiency • End of unit assessment (30 pts.) • Single elimination tournament on last day of unit

  2. Build 1 Lightweight Robot Approximately 250 kg • Include defensive & offensive weapons Lightweight Bot • Battle computer bots to test your bot’s strengths & weaknesses • Make improvements to your bot based on weaknesses exposed by battling computer bots

  3. Build 1 Middleweight Robot • Include defensive & offensive weapons Middleweight Bot • Battle computer bots to test your bot’s strengths & weaknesses • Make improvements to your bot based on weaknesses exposed by battling computer bots

  4. Build 1 Heavyweight Robot • Less than 800kg • Include defensive & offensive weapons Heavyweight Bot • Battle computer bots to test your bot’s strengths & weaknesses • Make improvements to your bot based on weaknesses exposed by battling computer bots

  6. Robot Arena ‘BOT ANALYSIS’ Analysis:the examination of something in detail in order to understand it better or draw conclusions from it. To get credit, answer with as much detail as possible using complete sentences. Use PowerPoint to answer questions for each of the three bots you made. Bot #1: Name _____________________ Weight Class __________ Weight _______ kg Describe the chassis shape, armor choice, components used (tires, motors, piston type, CO2 tanks, batteries, etc.) and weapon choices. Describe in full sentences the advantages and disadvantages of bot #1 compared to the other bots you created (design shape, armor, weapons, tires).

  7. Name: Krunchy Lite Weight Class: Lightweight 237kg The chassis is shaped like an arrow head. I thought it was a good idea to protect the battery and control board in the back. My armor is plastic, because the Slim Wheels and Nifty 6v battery give me the speed I need, but my trade-off is not a very good defense. The armor does an okay job unless I’m hit with a DDT Burst Motor weapon from above. I chose the Slim Wheels because they’re tall enough to continue to move if flipped over. I use the static weapons Pole Spike, Spiked Club and Spiked Strip because they can cause a lot of damage when I spin. The Red Bird motors provide a lot of speed. Its advantages are that it’s fast, can move if flipped, and can cause a decent amount of damage. Its disadvantages are a weak defensive armor and the wheels can get knocked off fairly easy.
