  4. Good Project Management • Creating a working flow chart designed to represent different phases of your project • Creating a working spreadsheet of tasks, responsible parties, and a timeline for completing tasks • Implementing your work schedule to complete your project in a timely manner

  5. Tasks • Brainstorm to decide what your group’s tasks will be • After you have decided these tasks, break them down into smaller parts where possible • Put these tasks in order from start to finish for the project

  6. Work Breakdown Structures • Work breakdown structures are useful in determining the order in which tasks must be completed • These structures outline what needs to be completed before another task can begin • The structure serves as a visual interpretation of your schedule

  7. Hints for Ordering Tasks • Look at the syllabus to see what your weekly assignments will be • These assignments will help to develop a timeline for your group • Work backwards from these assignment due dates

Hints for Ordering Tasks • Start with what major assignment or task needs to be completed for each week of the quarter • Then use your list of smaller tasks to fill in what needs to be done each day • Decide which tasks must be completed before another phase of your project is started and allow for that time
