  6. Committee Metrics • Objective: Provide a brief overview of metrics and explain the types and importance of committee metrics and how metrics will assist in the overall management of committees.

Committee Metrics – Overview & Importance • Technical Standards Board initiated • Aerospace Council started tracking metrics in 2006 • Developed a clear picture of current situation • Metrics provided insight into standards development success • Metrics helped identify areas for improvement • Metrics helped to develop goals and the strategies to reach them

  8. Committee Status Report • Developed for each of the 61 ‘main’ committees • Provides a quick snapshot of each committee’s ‘health’ or current status • Can be used to • Monitor metrics • Record news/changes/issues • Compare against division overall • Track membership needs

  43. The Product - Documents • Objective: Review the process, provide data and introduce the SAE Editorial staff and their role • Solicit input on how to improve the efficiency of the process and the overall satisfaction of the committee

Standards Development Process Timeline (~60-79 days from time of completed draft submission) Sponsor submits document for Aerospace Council ballot. SAE prepares final formatting. *Document sponsor receives ballot summary and resolves any disapprovals. **Sponsor submits document for Affirmation ballot (if needed) *Sponsor isnotified of Affirmation ballot results Document is balloted to Aerospace Council Document sponsor is notified of ballot results. If approved, the document goes to publishing. New project form submitted. Committee forms task group.
