What was the Tea Act? • The Tea Act was an act to reduce tax on British tea to attempt to stop the colonists from smuggling foreign tea in to the colonies • The tea act resulted in the Boston tea party, an event that took place in December 16th, 1773. The event was the dumping of loads of tea 90,000 lbs into the Boston harbor

  3. When did the Tea Act take place, and when did it end? • The tea act was announced on July 5th, 1773 • The Tea Act ended with the start of the revolutionary War 1783

  4. Why was the Tea Act enabled? • The Tea Act was enabled because British were in debt because of the strain of the French and Indian war.

  5. What were the results of the Tea Act? • The Tea Act resulted in the Boston Tea Party • The Boston Tea Party was the dumping of 90,000 lbs of tea into the Boston Harbor
