EMODnet Chemistry Data collection and metadata compilation in sea regions: current status Spatial and temporal data coverage UK Clean Safe Seas Evidence Group • Started 1999 and still ongoing. • 80 core stations around the UK. • Additional opportunistic stations increase coverage. • Contaminants measured in water, sediment and biota. • Collated and QC filter applied through the MERMAN database. • Annual submission to ICES for OSPAR assessment. EMODnet Chemistry Data collection and metadata compilation in sea regions: Next steps • Generate CDI and ODV files for 2013 contaminant data in Sept/Oct after ICES submission. • Update previous files where data have since been updated or supplemented. • Investigating a change to the licence conditions to remove ‘By negotiation’.
