  1. How Should You Be Caring for Your Children’s Teeth

  2. Some parents may not know all of the intricacies behind caring for their children’s teeth. For example, oral care should be started before the first tooth even appears. From healthy gums come healthy teeth. Between juices and milk there are a lot of sugars that can contribute to harmful bacteria that build up in your child’s mouth (just like adults). So, it’s imperative that this list of helpful tips be read, recognized and exercised especially during the infancy stages. As a parent, there is nothing more important to you than your child's health. Good oral health starts as soon as your baby is born, and is a lifelong journey. Before your baby has any erupted teeth, you should use gauze or a wet washcloth to gently wipe her gums. The first tooth will usually erupt around six months of age, and visits to your family dentist should start soon after that. In fact, studies show that children who go to the dentist by the time they are a year old have fewer fillings than children whose parents wait until they are older. Please share this info with your friends and family members who also have young children, and give your child a healthy start in life!
