  1. World Cup Bid: 2018 & 2022

  2. Premise • We are examining the World Cup Bids of 2018 and 2022. These examinations will include: • The countries that won each respective Bid • The bribes taken by officials of FIFA and the EU that resulted in the certain countries that won each bid • Links of the investigations of the bribes, such as Panorama. • And what the speakers for England attempted in order to bring the 2018 Bid into their favour

  3. Russia • Russia was the winner of the 2018 World Cup Bid. • It is thought that the Russian Mafia influenced the Bid of 2018 by bribing members of the EU with six billion dollars, so that Russia would win the Bid. • Three FIFA World Cup officials are known to have accepted bribes: • Ricardo Teixeira (Brazil) • Nicolas Leoz (Paraguay) • Issa Hayatou(Cameroon) • http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11869322 • http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Englands-2018-World-Cup-Bid-Team-Bribery-Claims-By-Panorama-Against-Fifa-Are-Embarrassment-To-BBC/Article/201011415840724?lid=ARTICLE_15840724_Englands2018WorldCupBidTeam:BriberyClaimsByPanoramaAgainstFifaAreEmbarrassmentToBBC&lpos=searchresults • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_and_2022_FIFA_World_Cup_bids#Russia

  4. England • Three people came in for the 2018 Bid for Britain; the Prime Minister, David Cameron; football legend David Beckham, and Royalty to the Throne, Prince Williams. • They are the most influential people in Britain, so they came in to help Britain dominate the Bid. • However, the problem with their speeches was that they were talking ‘at’ the audience, rather than talking ‘to’ them; for example, Prince William spoke in an unflattering voice, saying ‘I love football’ with, ironically, no influential tone.

  5. Qatar • The country Qatar have won the Bid for the 2022 World Cup. • Qatar is a homophobic country; just known for being gay lands people into a 5-year imprisonment. This would be very difficult on football teams, as there might be members of the teams that are homosexual. • Women are also considered second-class, so they have no social equality. • The weather in Qatar is extremely hot, with the temperature reaching as high as 50C (122 Fahrenheit). However, cooling systems are being developed that will decrease the temperature to as low as 27C. • Whilst England already have their own stadium, Qatar are trying to built their one, and also trying making the power that will have to run it.

  6. Bribes • In the 2022 World Cup Bid, Qatar won through bribes • Spain offered Russia to bribe referees in the 2018 World Cup in order to help Russia win the bid. • (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/05/16/fa-chief-spain-bid-to-bribe-world-cup-refs-115875-22261863/) • Russian referees had been bribed, beaten and murdered during the 2018 Bid. • (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1280572/Russian-referees-bribed-beaten-murdered--corruption-high-level.html)
