  2. The Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is one of the most demanding treks and demands previous experience of high altitude trekking. Sometimes the rope, ice axe and crampons might be required and you might need to wear a helmet as some stretches of path are susceptible to small rock falls. • Dhaulagiri Circuit trek is one of the toughest three-weeks plus trek in Nepal. This trek can be extended with some side trips such as the option to climb the non-technical Dhampus Peak (6,060m). The most part of trail are barely used, the services of a guide are highly suggested. • The following items are recommended for round Dhaulagiri trek in Nepal. The size of your back-pack highly depends on whether or not you have porters on your trip. Those with porters usually carry a daypack with water, snacks, camera and rain gear. Those without porters requires to carry personal supplies and sleeping equipment.

Sleeping • Tent (necessary for treks with camping) • Sleeping bag (perfect -15 degree) • Sleeping pad • Silk liner • Extra pillow for comfort • A good sleeping accessories will help you to make a good night sleep during the cold chilly night. A fleece inner is the best way to keep the sleeping bags clean and maximize the warmth.

  4. Hiking • Backpack (the size depends on whether or not you have a porters) • Hiking boots • Camp shoes • Trekking pants • Trekking shorts • T-shirts (lightweight wool is great) • Underwear

Cold Weather • Long underwear/Wool thermals • Sweater • Fleece Jacket • Waterproof and wind proof jacket and pants • Warm jacket and pants • Winter hat • Winter gloves • In the Himalayas, it gets cold without any notice. So we recommend you to bring along the warm clothes with you. These warm clothes will be savior during the cold time. You need to protect your neck and hand with a muffler and a pair of gloves.

  6. Accessories • Water purifier (pump, tablets or Steripen; bring from home) • Water bottles • Baseball camp (the sun is strong at higher altitude) • Hiking poles • UV protected sunglasses (essential when you cross snow line) • Head lamp with extra batteries • Books • Camera with extra batteries • Daypack (for your rain jacket, snacks, camera etc.) • Duffle bag (preferred by porters) • Gators (many people wear them but they are not mandatory)

  7. Personal Supplies • Sun screen • Hand sanitizer • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, floss, etc.) • Face/body wipes • Biodegradable bar soap • Medication ( Diamox and necessary medicines for Headache, Stomachache and laziness) • Favorite snacks – chocolate, energy bars and more
