  1. Floral Waters | Aromatics Canada Inc. Floral waters are produced during the extraction of essential oils. These waters are extremely versatile. They can be used in the manufacturing process anywhere that water is required. Floral water is used to describe the condensate water that remains after the extraction of an essential oil by water or steam distillation. The resulting fragrant water contains the very essence of everything that was contained within the plant when it was still alive and growing. They are an excellent addition to linen sprays and a simple way for the novice aroma therapist to enjoy the benefits of essential oils. They may also be added to make a fragrant and soothing hot bath. Floral waters are also known as hydrolase or hydrosols. Floral waters are formed during the extraction process, when the botanical material is subjected to distillation. While the essential oil of the plant material is drawn off and sold as pure essential oil, the remaining water still contains certain constituents of the plant material, even when filtered and cleaned. It is essentially the water that remains after the extraction of an essential oil by water or steam distillation. These aromatic products usually have a scent similar to their essential oil, but also can have a greener note. Floral waters are commonly used as a natural component of the skin toners or as an additional ingredient in cream blends for wonderfully nourished and fragrant skin. Offering skin care benefits and uplifting aromatherapy properties, they make wonderful single ingredient perfumes, deodorants, facial toners, air fresheners, and aromatherapy sprays.
