  1. Different Types of Diet Recommended for Sensitive Dogs As a dog owner, you are always concerned about the type of food that needs to be served to your beloved four-little friend. But when your dog is overly sensitive towards different kinds of food due to the fact that they are either debilitating, have a skin allergy or other bowel problems. If your pooch shows cringe towards food, then the diets recommended below will help. But before that let us see the different kinds of sensitiveness towards food in dogs. There are dogs that are sensitive towards individual contents present in the food or specific nutrients like fat or a curbed ability to digest food. If your pooch shows sensitivity towards different types of food, then try to minimize the amount of ingredients from the diet. Some of the common ingredients which cause food allergy in dogs include beef and dairy products. Ensure that you are not providing these two ingredients in the dog food. There are different kinds of food available in the market, especially for sensitive stomach like Hill’s Science Diet Adult Sensitive Stomach Canine Dry and Pro Plan Adult Sensitive Skin Stomach. Serve these two foods to the pet. You can also give home-cooked food that encompasses easily digested proteins like chicken in combination with rice, corn or pasta to provide the essential carbs to the pet. If still the pet does not show any improvement, then take them to the veterinarian immediately to scrutinize the reason for the sensitivity in the pet.

  2. If your dog normally has a dietary preference of one or two types of food, then try to encourage them to eat a more balanced diet with adequate nutritional component. It also helps when your dog has certain health issues like illness and allergy. If your dog is debilitating then they require more energy which means enhanced proteins and fat content in the diet to enable them to recover faster. If your dog shows reluctance to eat the food, then try to heat the food to increase the aroma. This will make the food more palatable for your pooch. If your dog still refuses to take the food for more than 48 hours then contact your veterinarian. Senior dogs require special diet that is especially for mature dogs. The seniority in age varies between different breeds like some dogs age at seven while others at 16. You can serve Hill’s Prescription Diet b/d Canine Brain Aging Care with Chicken Dry or Hill’s Science Diet Senior 11+ Small & Toy Breed Age Defying to such dogs. Food sensitivities can lead to allergies, itchiness and discomfort in your pooch. Some of the common ingredients that cause these allergies encompass chicken and dairy products. If you find that your canine is facing problems after eating specific food items, then it becomes a big problem to determine the ingredient that is causing the problem. The best thing to do in such a situation would be to provide a diet that is rich in protein and carbohydrate source that have never been eaten by the pooch before. This diet needs to be served for at least 12 weeks. You can also take the suggestion of your veterinarian who would recommend you special diet as per the dietary requirements of your dog.
