  3. ABOUTUNIVERSITY Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) is one of the state public universities in India. It is established in the year 1964. DAVV is formerly Indore University and also its jurisdiction is restricted to Indore city only in the initial years. Later on, it is extended to Alirajpur, Khargone, Dhar, Jhabua, Khandwa, Barwani, and Burhanpur. DAVV is accredited 'A++' grade by NAAC. And also, it is the only university in Madhya Pradesh to have this. This University has more than 300 colleges affiliated with it. The primary school campus and administrative offices are located at Rabindranath Tagore Marg in Indore. There are more than 300 colleges affiliated with this university. They are offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It offers education to 9000 students and almost 300,000 students in affiliated colleges. The entire campus is 760 acres of land.

  4. CAMPUS Takshashila Campus Devi AhilyaVishwavidyala has two campuses and the Takshasila campus is one of them. It is on 200 acres of land. Further, it has three sub-divisions. School of Pharmacy, DAVV is one of the sub-divisions of Takshasila Campus. And the others are the Institute of Engineering and Technology. It has 28 departments in the big part of the university. The academic classes are on the Takshasila campus and it is around 510 acres of land. Nalanda Campus The administrative offices are present on this campus and also office works go here. It is in 100 acres. Avanti Campus Avanti Campus is one of the campuses. And also, it is in 154 acres of land.

  6. COURSES OFFERED Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya offers a number of courses to its students. It is aiming to increase the number of students across Madhya Pradesh. The different courses in the University are: Engineering courses and Medical courses It is running a number of B.E. and M.E. courses since 1996. The University allocates admissions from Madhya Pradesh Pre-Engineering Test (M.P.P.E.T.). This is now altered and is also taken from J.E.E. rankings from 2014. This university also has medical and Dental colleges. Conventional Courses During the initial years, that is 1964 to 1984, the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya has started some conventional courses like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Statistics. And also, it is one of the institutions to start MBA in 1969 and B.Ed. in 1968. Later on, it also started Bio-Chemistry, Economics, Journalism, and Life Sciences.

  7. COURSES OFFERED • Self-supporting courses • In 1991, DAVV also started self-supporting courses. These courses develop partial support among the students. This improved the overall development of the University in both students and management.

  8. HISTORY DAVV is established in the year 1964. It is Indore University at the start. In 1964, Zakir Hussain, then Vice president of India inaugurated the University. And also, its jurisdiction restricts to Indore city only in the initial years. After that, it expands to seven districts. These seven districts include Alirajpur, Khargone, Dhar, Jhabua, Khandwa, Barwani, and Burhanpur. In 1988, it is renamed as Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya after 'Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar' of Maratha Empire.

  9. INFRASTRUCTURE The facilities play an important role in college success and so the University provides all the facilities required for a student to develop oneself. It provides wifi on the campus and all the requirements to improve the students. This helps in improving students in both studies and co-curricular activities. Now, coming to the infrastructure facilities: Central Library This University contains a library with a good collection of books. The books are of all streams in the college. And also, The University takes almost all the newspapers along with magazines and journals. It also has study halls in the library, so that students get the chance of spending more time in the library. It has over 2,00,000 books that includes research journals, textbooks, magazines, reference books, etc.

  10. INFRASTRUCTURE Sports Ground The University contains a sports ground. Every year, the college management conducts sports days. And also, students get equal chances to participate in the sports day. This makes the students take a break from their hectic academic schedules. Various games encouraged at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya are Basketball, Cricket, Football, Tennis, and more. Every year students participate in different games and also participates in the games held at various other colleges. Information Technology Center at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya It is Established in the year 2000. This helps to create a network over various departments on the campus. Initially, it connected over 18 departments with 524 node. Later, it added more departments to its network.

  11. INFRASTRUCTURE Cafeteria Cafeteria comes in the first place of hangout spots. So, the University management makes sure to have good facilities and also offers a good space for the students. Also, the management makes sure to provide healthy and tasty food to be available at reasonable prices. Auditorium The University management conducts all the events and meetings in the auditorium. During any special occasions such as college fest, farewells, and meetings, the college management, staff, and the students tend to gather in the auditorium. And also the college management performs all the major activities in the auditorium.

  12. INFRASTRUCTURE Laboratories The University has various laboratories with the best equipment. And also these laboratories help the students in research purposes and they contain all the basic equipment necessary for all the students that belong to different streams. Cultural Zone The cultural zone is the place where students participate in different cultural events. They include fest and inter-college competitions. And also, students get a chance to showcase their abilities. Computer Lab This University has the best computer lab in the town and as the major branches are computers, and also, the college has a computer lab with the best equipment. Students can use the lab during any time of the college hours and also to some extent after the working hours.

  13. INFRASTRUCTURE HealthCare The University provides a good healthcare facility. A general physician is always available whenever needed. And so, available during the emergency times. Wifi It provides the wifi facility in the University Campuses. This helps the students to explore various things to grow themselves. Gyanvani FM Radio It is established in the campus in the year 2006. It delivers all the educational content all over the campus and also many parts of India. And also, it delivers all the content provided by the educational institutions, government and semi-government organizations, United Nations Agencies, ministries such as Agriculture, Environment, Health, Women and Child Welfare, Science & Technology, etc.
