  1. Overview of Ring Fixators that people should know Summary Ring fixators are primarily used near the joints to provide fixation; however, very few are aware of its use. Read this article to learn about the use of ring fixators to fix the bones. The elements of a ring fixator system are divided into two main categories: primary and secondary. The primary parts of the standards ones that are used in the fixator can be used for the correction of skeletal deformation, which includes wires, rings, buckles, clamps, and pins. The other parts of the fixator come with elements that have rods, plates, supports, washers, nuts, and bolts that are meant for providing support. You need different kinds of wire tensioners and wrenches to assemble all the pieces of the equipment. The best part about such a system is that you do not need screwdrivers to fix them. Take a look at bone locking screw suppliers to know more about this procedure. One of the main parts of the circular external fixator is the rings that have many roles and a flat surface. The rings have the limb segment, which has two or more rings that are connected with the frame. The flat surface of the ring is meant to support the head side of the bolts and nuts. These nuts and bolts ensure that the wires, rods, bolts hold firm fixation during the treatment. Moreover, the flat portion of the rings ensures that the wire attains an inclination and a plane orientation. The rings present in the frame and aligned in a perpendicular manner to the axis of the bone. The ring is usually either made up of

  2. carbon fiber or stainless steel that provides rigid support to the frame and bears high stresses that occur in the tensioned wire. These equipment are often supplied by orthopedic locking plate supplier. The ring fixator set comes with half and full rings where the latter ones are lighter and contain more holes than the rings that are connected with half-rings. The holes present in the rings can be utilized for putting threaded rod, connector plate, and a hinge. The half-rings usually have 18 to 28 holes depending on the half-ring and the mid-area of the flat portion. The primary holes are set apart at a distance of 4mm and are 8mm in diameter. The threaded bolts or rods are pushed in the holes, and the two half-rings can be attached by bolts and nuts in order to make a complete ring. The ends of the plate do not come with a standard-sized hole and can fit together to form a complete ring. The half- rings can be connected in a manner that it makes oval rings. There are four-lead clover rings as well, which come with specialized construct and can be used to make some space between the ring and the person’s limb. There is a set of five and eighth rings that allow joint motion and are used at the joints near the knee and elbow. In addition to that, these rings allow the use of cross wires which can be used at the joints. Resource Box Consopharma is a premier Supplier of Ring Fixators along with other surgical tools.
