  4. Bus from Cusco through Vicanota valley to Ollantaytambo Start trek at Km 82 12km trek to campsite at Wayllabamba (3,000m) Day 1

  5. 11km Hardest day Approx 4.5hrs climb to Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200m) Campsite at Pacamayo (3,600m) Day 2

  6. 16km Climb to 2nd pass (4,000m) – original paving Steep descent down steps to Sayacmara 3rd pass (3,700m) - Phuyupatamarca ruin (‘Town in the Clouds’) Inca staircase – 1,000 steps down Campsite at Winay Wayna Hot Showers!! ($1.50) Day 3

  7. 6 km Wake at 4.30am for 5.30am departure 50 steps up to final pass Sun Gate for 7am sunrise Down to Machu Picchu to explore Day 4

  8. Day 4 • Bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes for lunch • Train to Cusco
