  2. Introduction: Smoke alarm is one crucial technology that protect you and your property from the unwanted damages and keep it safe. This document will let you know about some important factors you must know about smoke alarm when installing a new or replacing an old one.

  4. The Battery: When the smoke alarm's battery is low and has to be replaced, it will give indication at regular interval in every 40 seconds. Insects And Dust or Dirt: These kind of particles could set off a false alarm. Use vacuum cleaner on monthly bases to clean the dirt and insects which is present on the surface of alarm. Placement: Smoke alarm close to kitchen, bathroom can trigger false alarm due to steam. Ensure smoke alarm rightly placed far from the area such as kitchen, bathroom and laundries as well.

  5. Power Interruptions: When electricity is interrupted, smoke alarms may sound for a brief period of time. When electrical providers switch grids early in the morning, there is an electricity spike, or electricity is interfered via a common circuit, power disruptions might occur. Silence or Hush Your Smoke Alarm If you have ensured there is no fire at the property please take following steps to silence or hush your smoke alarm: • Press and release the silence button. • Your alarm will silence and enter a reduced sensitivity reset cycle for approximately 8 minutes. • During the reduced sensitivity reset cycle, the LED light will flash every 8 second. • Your alarm will atomically return to full sensitivity on completion of the reset.
