  2. Introduction www.entranzz.com Baking refers to cooking dry heat especially in an oven where the temperature is uniform as hot air circulates to cook a cake, pie, cookie or bread. Basic ingredients: Flour is the basic ingredient in cakes, pastries, breads and scores of other products. It provides the structure or framework of the food. Different types of flour are used for all kinds of baked goods. For cakes, it is best to use cake flour because of its lightness and low protein content while bread flour is the most suitable for breads due to its high protein content. Other flours used in baking include whole wheat flour, pastry flour, etc.

Eligibility www.entranzz.com Admission to the 3 year hotel management degree program in any recognized Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) in the country is through a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). 10+2 or equivalent in any stream in the minimum qualification required to appear in this exam. Aspirants can go through this channel, and after completing their degree, they can opt for some specialized Certificate course in bakery and confectionary. There are several private colleges that provide admission on the basis of the marks obtained in 12th standard.

  4. Job Prospects www.entranzz.com Pastry bakers work in professional kitchens and are skilled in creating pastries, breads, desserts and other baked goods. Pastry bakers are also responsible for ordering supplies, planning menus and pricing their baked goods. Bakers are continuously developing new recipes and testing them. Pastry bakers can find employment in hotels, bistros, bakeries and restaurants across the country. Pastry chefs work long hours (often early in the morning) and spend many of those hours on their feet, and it takes stamina and strength to work as a pastry chef.
