Choosing a Power Tool System

When it comes to power tools, don’t just look at them as stand alone products. Always think about the whole system that works around that power tool, as it’s the system that will help you work more efficiently. For instance, a guide rail system can be used for routers, jigsaws and circular saws. It’s the flexibility that counts. Check out these slides for more info.

  1. The Festool Power Tool System

  2. Most people when they think about power tools, think about a standalone product. It may be a drill, a jigsaw or circular saw. We think differently. We think about systems and how we can apply those systems for applications to make the job a lot easier and faster, with a better result. For example, if we have a look at the guide rail system, a guide rail system comes in different lengths. These are made to suit whatever application we're going to do. We can put the router, we can put the jigsaw, we can put the circular saw and we can put the plunge saw all on the one system. This creates a system that can be used for a variety of different applications. If we take the saw for instance on the rail, one important thing with the system to complete it, is dust extraction. Dust extraction goes in and we can work more cleanly and more efficiently and use it for different materials. We can also use different types of blades for different types of materials.

  3. Don’t think about one individual product. If you have a whole system, you can work a lot more efficiently.
