Statement of Purpose • Introduce and discuss policy decisions that may be pending in the near- and long-term future. • Discuss the political, fiscal and practical implications of these policy challenges and options. • Examine future policy decisions and prioritize those decisions as near-, long- or no-term decisions. • Build a cohesive vision to represent the needs of Pierre’s residents and businesses; and create an environment that will continue to make Pierre attractive to businesses.

City Goals • Responsibly utilize allocated dollars and avoid dipping into reserves for new projects. • Aggressively seek partnerships and new revenue to fuel city growth and develop “quality of life” projects. • Encourage creative revenue generating proposals including hotel occupancy fees and BIDs.   12. Final thought … The 2009 Strategic Plan is a living document and is subject to change. Commissioners and staff will revisit this document annually and make adjustments, based upon fund availability and ever-changing needs.
