Ordinary Cadet Advancement AIM OF THE LESSON FOR OC 1 & OC 2 By the end of the lesson you will have an understanding of the tasks, courses and achievements expected of you before you can be advanced to Able Cadet. Discuss the completion of Part 1 training Discuss how many points each cadet has as they require 15 points.     17. Time, Watches and Bells - 2 The above slide shows what happens on a 6 watch system. The watches do the same watch every day. But with the 7 watch system, the watches do not vary every day. The way the seven watch system was brought in was to split the dog watch. This watch was traditionally used for getting the ships company feed in two sittings. This meant that the ship was always manned by at least half the crew. It is also used for “clean ship” while at sea.The above slide shows what happens on a 6 watch system. Care & Security of Unit Owned & MOD (N) Loaned Stores - 1 AIM OF THE LESSON By the end of the lesson, you will understand that it takes a lot of money to run and maintain our unit and how we get our equipment and uniforms that we need to be Sea Cadets. Discuss the the above slide and that although the CO is responsible for the stores. Any member of the unit has to show due care and respect to any equipment that they are using to ensure it does not get damaged.
