Members & The Union • Strong relationship ties between growers and the Union, provide our local products with quality advantage in the first place. • What are the reasons ? • We are in complete control of the pesticides and the fertilizers used during cultivation. • Moreover, we provide incentives to the growers that get their provisions through our store. We also equip members with the appropriate tools to continue and improve their cultivations. • Our agronomists visit the farms frequently, advise the growers on how to improve their cultivation and warn them for potential diseases. wholeness justice solidarity

  7. aa • STATE-OF-THE-ART FACTORY • Continuously investing in our factories, especially after 1990. We have already equipped high-tech LASER SYSTEMS, X-RAYS and METAL DETECTORS. • Accreditations : ISO 9001, ISO 20000 , BRC, BRC FISMA, KOSHER, HALAL, GLOBAL GAP. • One of the very few companies in Greece to have ISO 17025 accredited laboratories.

Investments • Recently we have renewed all of aspirators and applied a new technique to reduce potential damage on the berries and increase efficiency. • Only the past three years we have invested 1.523.490,99 €in our factories and facilities. • For the following 3 years we have already approved an investment plan of 4.279.215,87€.

Research & Development • For many years part of our budget and European funds were directed in research and development. • Collaborating with University of Patras, Harokopio of Athens and other European Universities (Hohenheim , Karlsruhe ) • Trough our research we have designated the superiority of currants against other “superfoods” • Some of our research finds indicate that black Corinthian currants: • Is a product with high concentration of antioxidants (exp. Anthocyanins), vitamins (B6) , and a high source of Calcium, Phosphorus , Iron and fiber. • Acts for the protection against neurodegenerative disorders. • Helps for the reversion of oxidative stress. • Protects the bones and increases stamina of muscles. • Regulates body weight and blood pressure.

Currants . • Main Markets : U.K , Netherlands , Germany. • Exporting all over the world, at approximately 40 countries.

  11. Germany : A growing market • Germany accounts for ≈5% of our total exports. • The past three years we had a CAGR 22,49% of net sales.
