Technical specification: This system has been laboratory tested achieving a Sound Reduction Rating of 35dB (A) & a density of 37.5kg/m2. All timber materials sourced from a FSC, QA Sector Scheme 4a approved supplier.

Gramm sawn softwood Acoustic Absorptive Comprising specialized C24 stress graded structural posts or Steel RSJ Noise barrier posts dependant on height with specially manufactured galvanised steel rail cleats. Foundation and post size dependant on height and location. ST5 concrete to be used for post foundations. Timber Species: Douglas Fir & Larch – pressure treated Tanalith E preservative (Green) Ex works. All in accordance with the Specification for Highway Works Technical Memorandum HA66/95, BS EN1793: parts 1-5 and BSEN1794: parts 1 & 2. Barrier: * Note: Post lengths/sections, foundation sizes and post spacings may vary subject to final site survey, design calculations and safety requirements. Panels to comprise horizontal rails, at 675mm maximum centres and 1 no gravel board, Clad reverse face side only with Gramm barriers environmental Vertical main boards. infilled with 75mm thick x 100kg/m3 density mineral wool protected with geotextile fabric and Clad face (noise source) side with vertical battens, with chamfered front edges, at 80mm canters. All surmounted by twice weathered capping, securely fixed to top rail with stainless steel annular ringshank nails.   6. Lateral Timber Movement The design of the panels should avoid gaps occurring under operational conditions, such as shrinkage and warping. Natural timber movement is not prevented since boards are free to expand and contract naturally and therefore splitting and gaps do not occur. Special ring shank nails (in stainless steel) prevent removal of cover strips and boards by vandalism. Standard detail drawing: “If timber is used for panels, the minimum design thickness should be based on the seasoned dry weight of the timber.
