Traffic Management in India

The IRTEu2019s College of Traffic Management (CTM) is the Centre for Excellence in Road Safety for the South East Asian Region. At CTM, a specially designed Road Safety Hall of Nations has been created. All the conferences and workshops are being held in the Hall of Nations since 2012. These conference are being hosted in collaboration with the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP1 of the UNECE), Transport Section of the UNESCAP, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, USA and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India towards improving road safety in the South East Asian Region.   2. Need for Traffic Management Traffic Management in India has proven to be a mammoth task. Below are some factors which have added to this issue • Service oriented economy • Migration to bigger cities • Increase in purchasing power • Increase in earning members in the house

Measures Planned • Use of modern technology is instrumental in traffic management. • Intelligent Transport System – Real time traffic information will be shared by Traffic Department, Transport Authorities, Public transport operators, Fire brigade and other travelers so that in situation of congestion or road accidents, collaboration is smoother.

  4. College of Traffic Management • Only research-based capacity building organization working in the area of road traffic education and investigation in the country. • Also recognised as the Centre for Excellence in Road safety for the South East Asian Region.

  5. About College of Traffic Management College of Traffic Management has so far conducted over 200 short term courses for Police Officers from India, Nepal and Tanzania.
