Khalid Al-Khatib, Cheif Executive Officer of NAFFCO, is a visionary businessman whose tryst with fire started very early. “From the beginning, I knew where I was going and strategised my life accordingly,” he expresses. Eng. Khalid Al-Khatib believes that protecting people from fire-and educating about fire safety-is much more than just a job. It is his life-long commitment fueled by his passion that lays in saving lives.

3. After completing his high school studies in Abu Dhabi, Khalid studied for an industrial engineering degree in the US and Followed it up with a certificate in Fire Protection Technology. With adequate expertise and appropriate education, Khalid started venturing into fire protection industry through NAFFCO.

4. NAFFCO’s success in the firefighting industry did not happen overnight. It was a gradual process of setting and achieving small realistic goals one at a time. From a team of 15 members when it started, NAFFCO today has more than 15,000 members including 2,000 passionate engineers and over 6.5 million square feet of state-of-the- art manufacturing facilities. Growing Through Knowledge Mr. Khalid emphasizes on the importance of educating and advancing awareness in fire prevention and protection of the community. “NAFFCO is a leader in empowering knowledge,” he quips. He also adds, “The increasing awareness of people in protecting life and property has direct impact with growth of this business. And you can notice that now from the media that people are really taking care of life and safety. NAFFCO also supports the efforts of the Civil Defense in UAE in putting people’s lives on high priority – mainly life and then property. “In the previous year, we conducted more than 10 NFPA seminars in UAE. The world’s first NFPA Smoke Management System course was made possible with the guidance of Dubai Civil Defense. This shows that NAFFCO is not just a supplier company but we are exercising our role to leave a major footprint on this industry. My end vision is to empower the people by teaching them the courses and complete actual training to empower them to protect life and property.” Latest Development As NAFFCO Provides full protection solutions categorized in different sectors, we ensure that the development happens in every sector. For example, in fire protection system, we recently introduced an Automatic Fire Detection and Suppression System, especially designed for school buses and any vehicle engine fires. NAFFCO “Fire DeBus’s” main purpose is to protect and ensure the safety of the children and other passengers from school bus fires. In addition, NAFFCO is developing its systems in Inert Gas, Fire Trucks, HDPE pipes, etc. Global Growth In addition to local offices and manufacturing plants in 15 countries worldwide including India, NAFFCO has just arrived in Australia, where it has around 150,000 square feet facility now. It has also reached South America, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and the United Kingdom. Wherever there is an opportunity to protect life, NAFFCO is there. NAFFCO has delivered and commissioned 31 FALCON 6 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles to 30 airports across India in 2019. Mass production was accomplished within 6 months and each vehicle has passed through a stringent quality and performance parameter test in accordance with NFPA 414 at its world-class in- house testing facility before delivery. The arrival was celebrated with a traditional roll-out ceremony and water salute at airports in conjunction with Airport Authority of India followed by a successful Site Acceptance Test, Commissioning and Training.
