In order to be a successful leader, manager, or boss in the professional world, you need to lead with compassion. Many managers or leaders tend to get caught up in the little mistakes that their employees make, which can actually serve to inhibit communication in the work place. If your employees are afraid to come to you with questions or concerns, mistakes are bound to be made in abundance. If you lead with compassion, you employees will be able to openly ask questions without being afraid of the response.
A successful leader in a professional setting will also trust his or her employees to do their jobs without constant supervision. A micromanager is frustrating in the work place, and it makes the employees feel like no one trusts them to do their jobs. This will hinder productivity, and it will only keep your business from reaching its full potential. Trust your employees to do their work, but be available for questions.
Finally, be specific with your employees. As a manager or leader, it is important that your employees know exactly what to expect from you, when to expect it, and there should be no questions as to what you want done. No matter how small the task, be specific about what it is you expect from everyone involved on the project.
