  2. Advantages of the FLC • Help each other transition from high school to college • Get to know a small group of classmates quickly. • Form study groups and attend workshops and discussions with your classmates (inside and outside FLC). • Earn better grades! • Build relationships with professors in your major. • Decide if the major you are considering is right for you.

  3. TOP 10 THINGS to REMEMBER in the FLC • The FLC is a one-semester commitment • You will be given an option to sign up for second semester courses – on a course-by-course basis • In October, the Office for Student Retention will visit your SLS/ EGN course to discuss the spring semester. • You MUST clear all of your registration holds (including your academic advising hold) to be eligible to register for classes with your FLC in Spring. • All outstanding fees must also be cleared (i.e., parking tickets, Housing fees, library fines, etc.) • Make sure your admission hold (high school transcript) is cleared. If not, you can’t register for spring classes!

  4. TOP 10 THINGS to REMEMBER in the FLC • Attend ALL classes ALL the time! • FLC is meant to be a support – not an excuse! • Complete all homework and reading assignments and turn in papers and assignments by deadlines. Be prepared! • Get the most out of the FLC – participate in FLC programs and events (study groups, workshops, discussions, advising sessions, etc.) • Check your FAU email regularly. We will email you about important things happening in and out of the FLC! • Get involved OUTSIDE of the FLC too!
