[a day in the life] • each day is different • life of a “technology transfer” is measured in years if not decades • multidisciplinary and multi-task nature to the work – often a juggling act • analytical skills and decision making skills needed • flexibility and creativity – no two deals the same

[twists and turns of a career] • a technologist in technology transfer • training of professionals in technology transfer varies considerably • as does the different jobs and positions in a technology transfer office • process of technology transfer is more complex and sophisticated – hence the types of positions also is flourishing • seems to attract people unsure of career path
