  1. Welcome to Open house6th Grade ELA Ms. Amerson Room 204 * Make sure to grab a syllabus.

  2. A Little background… • Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Florida • 17thyear teaching • 3 years in 3rd grade at Hyde Grove Elementary • Past 13 years in 6th grade Language Arts at LaVilla • 8 year-old daughter at Pine Forest Elementary

  3. If you did not receive a parent information letter to fill out from your child, please take one tonight and have your child return it by the end of the week.

  4. Materials needed: • 1 composition book • 3- ring binder with pockets • Dividers for binder (will be students’ portfolios) • writing utensils (pencils preferred) • notebook paper • planner • earbuds

  6. Binders- Portfolios • SSR / Annotated Book List/ Achieve3000 Article Info. & Data • Writing- Rough & Final Drafts • Vocabulary • Greek & Latin Word Parts / Root Word Study • Grammar Practice/ Mechanics/ Spelling • Reference Sheets

  7. Beginning Class Procedures • Come in SILENTLY • Go STRAIGHT TO YOUR SEAT • Read the Daily Agenda • and GET OUT MATERIALS • COPY the Home Learning in PLANNER • Begin S.S.R., Achieve3000, or the Bell Ringer. Stick to them!!!!
