PTCS • Performance Tested Comfort System • Primarily Residential • Applicable to small commercial as a process • Questions: • Is contractor tracking an effective method to improve compliance? • Is training process effective to improve procedure compliance? • Are unit installations superior to non PTCS systems?
Opportunity • An evaluation of the PTCS work would help to answer some of the listed questions • This evaluation would help inform development of a similar program for California installations • Opportunity for match with CEC PIER funds to complete such an evaluation . . . Proposals due end of July • A project developing better commercial acceptance testing could benefit northwest new construction efforts So the question is . . . • Who is interested in helping fund an evaluation of PTCS in the Pacific Northwest?
