  2. How to Factory Reset a PS4 Want to start everything from scratch on your PS4 due to any reason? If you are struggling with a technical error or any software malfunction on your gaming console, then a factory reset might solve the problem. You might have changed some in-depth settings of your PS4, which is causing some failure or issue in it. Whatever the reason, if you want to factory reset your PS4, then you should possess prior knowledge about it.

  3. How to do a Factory Reset on a PS4? Before we hit the Factory Reset button on your PS4 settings, do you know that by doing this, you lose all of your data and preferences? The device will become almost new. If you are planning to sell your to someone, then you can also perform this step to make sure that your personal data is not getting misused. It will also fix most of the minor and significant software-related glitches. So it is a good idea to take a backup of essential data and files in an external drive. Once that is done, you are all set to press the Reset button.

  4. Step 1: Signing to PS4 account and navigating to settings Go to settings, look for PlayStation Network/Account Management and click on it. You should disable the device as your main PlayStation 4. That thing lets you run downloaded games even when you are not connected to the internet. This happens because it identifies the specific PS4 as yours.  • Step 2: Disable the PlayStation Head to the “Activate as Your Primary PS4” option on your device. Your device will be enabled in that option, so you have to press the Deactivate option. If asked for confirmation, then press the “Yes” option. This will disable your PS4.  • Step 3: Sign In Again with the User Account This account is different from the previous one. When you are signed in to the user account, go to the settings.

  5. Step 4: Look for “Initialization” in the PS4 Settings Once you are in the Initialization settings, you will have to find other two settings: “Initializing PS4” and “Restore Default Settings.” The first setting is to clear out all user settings and preferences that you have tweaked since the console was unboxed. The second settings are for wiping the entire data of your PS4 storage such as your games, saved game files, and all content that was not in the drive at the time of purchase. That means this option will clean the hell out of your console. So ensure that you perform these settings to factory reset your device.  • Step 5: Wait until the Reset Completes Once you have initiated the reset command on your PS4, the process will take a while to complete. So do not disturb your device by pressing random keys while the process is on the go. Take a cup of coffee and relax once the process finishes you are ready to see the next step.  • Step 6: Setup or Getting Started Screen Now, you should set up your PS4 in the same way when you started it for the first time. So personalize all things and install games according to your choice. Also, check if the issue you were getting in your device is solved or not. However, if there is a hardware issue or fault in your device, then the problem might still bother you. If that’s the case, then immediately claim your warranty or take you PS4 to the nearest service center if possible.
