Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL Florida State University (FSU), situated in Tallahassee, is a 4-year public research university that serves approximately 40,000 students. • the University of Miami (UM) is currently the highest-ranked school in the state in the national universities category. This 4-year private research institution has a total enrollment of over 15,000 students. Founded in 1925

  3. Who should go to FSU? • FSU has 16 colleges that provide over 275 degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and professional levels. Colleges include the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Communication and Information and College of Business.

  4. Scholarship option in FSU • A scholarship can be based on academic qualifications, or on talent, or on a variety of other qualifications. The key to earning a scholarship is to make the effort to identify scholarships that you may qualify for, respond fully and accurately to any application requirements, and don't give up! Applying for admission to UM automatically places you in consideration for scholarships. To be considered for need-based financial aid, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. • If you are a resident of the State of Florida, additional financial opportunities exist to help you pay for a private university education like UM
