Fire Safety in Modern Shopping Malls

The height of the mall is not any coincidence - but on multiple floors, the thought of a high street under one roof may be a relatively new concept. With numerous high-rise commercial properties within one building and many people to remain safe, fire safety in shopping centers has become a crucial design element.

  1. Fire safety in modern shopping malls The height of the mall is not any coincidence - but on multiple floors, the thought of a high street under one roof may be a relatively new concept. With numerous high-rise commercial properties within one building and many people to remain safe, fire safety in shopping centers has become a crucial design element. DESIGNING FIRE SAFETY FOR LARGE, ENCLOSED PUBLIC SPACES .Fire safety in shopping malls may be a challenge, especially in modern shopping complexes. Today’s mall design trends follow a pattern of open central areas, surrounded by an amphitheater on the ascending floors. This results in high density of outlets and crowding of people on the sides .

  2. Commercially, it is sensible to use space during this way because larger shops can fit on an equivalent footing, while maintaining a community space for open minds, performances and exhibitions. The challenge lies in creating effective safe ways to escape: how can we make sure the safe flow of pedestrians in densely populated areas, and the way can people be misled and lost in large and open lobbies? How does one maintain an open plan layout, but engage in compartmentalization when needed? It is important to make fire safety within the design. most of the people don't know, but in almost every modern shopping mall there are invisible secrets - it'll only reveal itself within the event of a significant incident. CASE STUDIES: FIRE CURTAINS AND ESCAPE ROUTES We installed our fire safety products in an extension to shopping mall in UAE. Refer : Outletmall UAE Fire curtains are used: Fire curtains serve multiple purposes, but the first focus is usually on the protection of life. Fire curtains significantly slow down the spread of fireside and supply time for emergency services to reply effectively. This limits damage to buildings within the process. They achieve this by compressing the fire - but they also provides a visual clue; Where is it safe to travel just in case of fire? Descending fire curtains or fire shutters are a transparent indication that "this route is closed". By using them in open plan areas, evictees are often guided to safer escape routes. Fire curtains are concealed and built into the roof or structure - so from an architectural and interior design point of view, there's no intrusion into the design and feel of the space. Fire safety publicly places Buildings that are publicly accessible to all or any must be secure. The larger the building, the harder it's to urge people out - unless the planning fire safety is taken under consideration before anything . Our expertise has led MMJ Security and Safety to become a leader in fire safety UAE. We install fire and smoke curtains that lead the industry, we offer educational training courses and consultancy.
