Business Registration in Oman…100% foreign-owned company After registering a new 100% foreign-owned company in Oman with the Ministry of Commerce and Trade (MoCI), there are additional steps that must be completed before engaging in the activity listed in your commercial register. The activity listed on the commercial registration certificate is followed by the notation (license pending), indicating that the owner has not yet obtained the license to practice that particular activity. To begin, one must rent an office or shop (unless one intends to use their own commercial property) and register the rental agreement with the Muscat Municipality. It is required to specify the activities that will be conducted in the rental premises according to the commercial registration. The application should then be submitted to the Muscat Municipality for approval.
