Learning Styles: 4 Ways Students Can Learn

Every student has a strategy that they use to remember information more effectively while studying. Some of them write; others make diagrams; others like to listen to lectures, etc. Because there is no learning style that suits all students, researchers are conducting research to understand how students best learn new information. 2. Overview Every student has a strategy that they use to remember information more effectively while studying. Some of them write; others make diagrams; others like to listen to lectures, etc. Because there is no learning style that suits all students, researchers are conducting research to understand how students best learn new information.

  3. What Are the Four Types of Educational Learning? We mentioned earlier that researchers have been trying for many years to understand the best way for students to learn through research. One of the popular theories so far is the VARK model. This model identifies four types of students:  • Visual Learning Style • Auditory Learning Style • Kinesthetic Learning Style • Reading / Writing Learning Style

  4. Visual Learning Style Visual students are individuals who prefer to capture their information visually - even with the help of maps, graphs, tables, diagrams and so on. However, they may not respond well to photos or videos; instead, they must inform with various visual aids such as patterns and shapes. The best way to visually present to students is to show them the relationship between different visual ideas.

  5. Auditory Learning Style Auditory students are individuals who learn better when they receive information in auditory form, when we hear or pronounce it. Because saying things out loud helps them understand the concept. Auditory students learn best when information is presented to them through strategies that include speech, such as lectures and group discussions.

  6. Kinesthetic Learning Style Kinesthetic students are individuals who want to learn by doing. They enjoyed a practical experience. They are often more relevant to reality and more connected to it. The best way to present new information to a kinesthetic student is through personal experience, practice, examples or simulations.

  7. Read / Write Learning Style Literacy students make the best use of information when they are in words, writing or reading. For them, the text is stronger than any visual or auditory representation of the idea. These individuals are usually very good at writing assignments. There are a number of ways a literature student can take and understand a lesson. For example, it is best for them to illustrate diagrams and charts by writing statements, writing quizzes on topics, or assigning written assignments.
